Causes and Control of Scaffolding in the Upper Part of Xiangtan Steel No.2 BF Stack
The causes and control of scaffolding in the upper part of Xiangtan Steel No.2 BF stack are introduced.The ini-tial slight wall accretion occurred in the furnace gradually develops to scaffolding,and the thickness of scaffolding part ex-ceeds 800mm.The main reasons of the scaffolding fall on high content of powdered ore in lump ore charged to the furnace,deterioration of the sinter quality,serious recycling and enrichment of basic metal in the furnace,and over-cooling in the middle and upper part of the stack.Considering the actual conditions of the furnace,the scaffolding is removed through physical hitting,which makes furnace condition recovered quickly,and the production indicators improved significantly.The scaffolding treatment process is quite difficult,thus it is believed that the key point to remain good BF operating profile is to prevent wall accretion and scaffolding,and both the wall accretion and scaffolding,if occur,shall be removed in time.
