Tackling of Wall Accretion in Lianyuan Steel No.6 BF and Intensified Smelting Practice
The behavior and formation of the wall accretion of the Lianyuan Steel No.6 BF are described, followed by an in-troduction of the corresponding tackling measures and intensified smelting practice. The tackling measures include decreasing the ore amount/batch to reduce furnace load, controlling the blasting flowrate, oxygen enrichment and the differential pres-sure,adjusting the distribution matrix to smoothen central gas flow, and managing the tapping operation.By means of these measures, the accretion on the furnace stack peels off and the furnace condition is restored. In addition, optimization of the coke charging structure, activation of the hearth, and optimization of the burden distribution system are implemented. As a result, the utilization rate of BF gas and the daily output rise to 45%-46%and over 7 100t/d respectively, the main techno-economic indicators are improved and the furnace steps to intensified smelting. It is considered that appropriate and stable temperature at the furnace belly, lower and middle part of the furnace stack can effectively prevent the occurrence of wall ac-cretion;the furnace core temperature provides earlier warning of the abnormal hearth working status, when it goes down,cor-responding measures should be taken in time.
