Countermeasures for the Smelting with Low Grade Ore in JISCO No.7 BF
In order to reduce the hot metal production cost, the percentage of sinter charged to JISCO No.7 BF is increased from 58%to 70%,thus the charged ore gradechanges from 54%to 51%.The furnace operation becomes much more diffi-cult while smelting under such condition, initial gas flow always distributes abnormally, and the techno-economic indicators becomes worse.Efforts are made to tackle these problems, such as extending the quality management of the raw material and fuel, optimizing the organization of tapping activities, and adjusting the blasting system, the tuyere size and charging system. The furnace achieves long-term stable and smooth running, the activity of the hearth is not affected greatly by the deteriora-tion of the ore grade, obtaining the desired improvement. It is believed that the original management procedures should not be followed any longer when the quality of raw material and fuel declines, the smelting intensity should be weakened in time, and then restores gradually after the furnace condition becomes stable.Furthermore, the removal of basic metal and zinc should also be implemented accordingly.
