The application of one-layer 3+9×0.175NT steel cord fabric as a substitute for 2 layers 1667dtex/2-28EPI polyester cord fabric in the carcass of 215/75R15LT 8PR mud tire was investigated.The results indicated that using 3+9× 0.175NT steel cord in the carcass of 215/75R15LT 8PR mud tire,the inflated peripheral dimension,strength performance and durability of the finished tire met the requirements of national standards,the high-speed performance met the requirements of enterprise standard,and the stiffness performance was significantly improved.The tire performance met market demands with slightly reduced weight and certain economic benefits.
