Finite Element Simulation of Static Mechanical Properties of Radial Tire
Taking the 205/55R18 radial tire as an example, the static mechanical properties of radial tires were analyzed using finite element simulation.A finite element model was established and its reliability was verified, based on these the effects of radial load, inflation pressure and ground friction coefficient on tire ground contact pressure, longitudinal stiffness and lateral stiffness were analyzed. The results showed that when the radial load of the tire increased, the ground contact pressure, longitudinal stiffness and lateral stiffness of the tire correspondingly increased. When the inflation pressure of the tire increased, the ground contact area of the tire decreased, and the ground contact pressure and stiffness of the tire increased.Increasing the coefficient of friction could improve the ground contact performance and handling performance of the tire, but the effect of the coefficient of friction was smaller than that of the radial load and inflation pressure.
