Influence of Electron Irradiation Dose on Inner Liner Compound Penetration in Tire
Through irradiating the carcass cord with an electronic irradiation pre-vulcanization device, the influence of electron irradiation dose on the inner liner compound penetration in tire and the cord strength were investigated. The results showed that the inner liner compound penetration decreased as the irradiation dose increased, while the cord strength had little change with the increase of irradiation dose, and did not decrease.According to the structural design requirements of the tire,it was determined that the inner liner compound penetration could be controlled less than 25%under the irradiation dose of 40 and 50 kGy.The electronic pre-vulcanization technology could effectively prevent the inner liner compound penetration into the carcass cord compound, thereby replacing the transition layer to save costs.
