The Mentorship System of Private Universities in the Republic of China and Its Contemporary Reference
During the Republic of China period, the mentorship system implemented by private universities in China had practical characteristics such as creating a localized mentorship environment, creating a mentorship model with corevalue orientation, maintaining the mentor's educational sentiment as the spiritual support, and using survival circumstances as the endogenous driving force for implementing the mentorship system. In the specific implementation process, the mentorship system faces problems such as economic constraints, insufficient institutional design, imbalanced teacher-student ratio, and insufficient understanding of the spiritual core of the mentorship system.Nevertheless, the mentorship system of private universities during the Republic of China era still has many reference values for the present, including resolutely implementing the fundamental task of cultivating morality and nurturing talents, maintaining an appropriate teacher-student ratio is crucial, strengthening the cultivation of non institutional values, and improving the rules for selecting mentors.
