China at the intersection of"self"and"other"perspectives—Chinese and American non-fiction Chinese writing from a comparative perspective
In today's Sino-American non-fictional Chinese writing, there are many intertextual phenomena between Chinese writers'self-understanding and American writers'other observation. The two kinds of Chinese writing originated from different discursive traditions, but adopted similar presentation methods—choosing a micro perspective and exploring the essence of the dramatic changes of the times through the stories of nobody. However, one part is more inclined to"narrate",while the other is more partial to"display".Facing the changing times, the former express more sorrow and warmth, while the latter express more optimism and cynicism. The two kinds of writing show the dialectical relationship between subjectivity and objectivity, fiction and reality in different degrees, which can be used for reference by later comers.
