Officials attached great importance to the family from Han to Tang Dynasty.They showed filial piety to their parents,maintained harmony between spouses,strictly educated their children,and loved their brothers.In the impoverished life between husband and wife,the wife embodies a sense of instrumentality.They govern their family through etiquette.While maintaining family harmony,they also reflect the hierarchical concept that fathers are more noble than mothers,husbands are more noble than wives,and older have priority over younger.Their family concept also affects how to govern the people,and they pay attention to changing customs and reconstructing family ethics when governing the people.They resolve conflicts and disputes through family affection,and even influence criminals.However,their feelings towards their families have principles and boundaries.That is,they cannot violate laws and morals,and cannot harm the interests of the country and the people.
