It is hoped to provide necessary scientific basis for coarse cereals heat pump dryer selection. Taking 12 typical coarse cerealsshape and size as simple, structure, drying technologies and the applicability for different of three kinds of heat pump dryersgrain were analyzed. Results showed that heat pump drying has remarkable advantages in energy saving. Fixed bed heat pump dryer and bean heat pump dryer were suitable for kidney coarse cereals such as red kidney bean, and so on, multi-stage mixed-flow heat pump dryer was suitable for ellipsoid and spherical coarse cereals such as red bean, mung bean and oats, and so on.
