Agricultural digitalization empowers rural economic resilience:influencing mechanism and empirical investigation
In the context of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization and promoting common prosperity, agricultural digitalization has injected new impetus into the development of rural economy.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022,this paper used the entropy method to measure the resilience of China's agricultural digitalization and rural economy, and empirically analyzed its influencing mechanism through the fixed effect model and intermediary effect model. The results showed that:(1)With the advancement of agricultural digitalization, rural economic resilience had been significantly improved, which increased by 0.0129%for every 1%increase in agricultural digitalization.(2)In terms of heterogeneity, the role of agricultural digitalization on rural economic resilience in different regions was different, and the promotion effects of the eastern and central regions were greater than that of the western region, with impact coefficients of 0.0135 and 0.0324,respectively.In addition, the higher the forest coverage, the more significant the impact of agricultural digitalization on rural economic resilience, and the impact coefficient of high forest cover areas was 0.0293.(3)In terms of mechanism, agricultural digitalization could improve rural economic resilience by promoting rural innovation ability, and the intermediary effect accounted for 10.85%.This paper expanded the research perspective to the provincial level, used the panel regression model to conduct an empirical discussion to deeply analyze the impact of agricultural digitalization on rural economic resilience and its mechanism, which enriched the relevant research content.According to the conclusions, this paper proposed policy implications for strengthening the construction of rural digital infrastructure, narrowing the development gap with the western region, attaching importance to the cultivation and introduction of talents, and protecting forestry resources,so as to promote the improvement of rural economic resilience.
