The armyworm poses a threat to broad-leaved tree species such as poplar,willow,and elm in Tongliao City.Through field investigations and systematic observations,the author has investigated the biological characteristics and occurrence level judgment methods of armyworms in the Horqin area.Control experiments were conducted on different instar larvae,and the results showed that egg picking and breaking prevention were carried out from the end of January to the end of February;From May 1 to 15,the newly hatched larvae were treated with 1.2%nicotine and matrine emulsion 1000 times spray;The application of 15%isopropyl carb smoke agent to 2-3 instar larvae before mid June has a good control effect.
