Current Status and Protection Strategy for Beihai Wetland in Tengchong
Beihai wetland in Yunnan province is a unique type of lake wetlands in China, the "floating blanket" of the lake with an average depth of 6 m is the most unique characteristics of wetland. It is very rare in China s. As the population expansion and rapid development of economy, the excessive dependence on Beihai wetland resources and growing human interference intensifies the need for protection of wetland biodiversity of Beihai wetland, and increases the threat to "floating blanket" swamp and the habitat of rare and precious animals and plants. Through the in-depth analysis of current situation, characteristics and problems of Beihai wetland resources, scientific and ration protection measures were proposed.
