The construction of urban wetland parks,incorporating wetlands into urban public park system,has become an important way to protect and manage urban wetlands.We analyzed the current status,geographical distribution pattern and development trend of national urban wetland parks in China,using GIS 10.0 and the unevenness indices.57 national urban wetland parks,containing main wetland types such as rivers,lakes and artificial wetlands had been established in China.66.67％ of the national urban wetland parks were located in prefecture-level cities,fewer were in first-and second-level cities.However,more were in county towns.The geographical distribution of national urban wetland parks was highly concentrated,with an unevenness index of 0.59.These urban wetland parks were mainly located in the eastern coastal provinces of Shandong,Jiangsu and Zhejiang,as well as the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,Yellow River and Huaihe River.The high-density hotspot of construction was urban agglomerations in Yangtze River Delta and Shandong peninsula.In addition,although the development of urban wetland parks was slow,they are being gradually expanded from the east to the central and western cities,and concentrated in the main urban agglomerations.
