The building of an international wetland city is an essential measure for promoting the high-quality development of wetland protection and practicing the concept of ecological civilization.In this paper,we conducted a comprehensive analysis on the characteristics of wetland resources,major countermeaures and challenges of building wetland city in Hangzhou.Based on the results,suggestions from the aspects of strengthening wetland management and control,increasing publicity,broadening funding sources and learning from successful experience were raised,aiming to provide decision-making reference for Hangzhou City to create an international wetland city successfully.
