Design of Multi-objective Flood Buffer Zone in Ecological Wetland Based on NbS Concept:A Case Study of Shibailianwei Wetland
This study proposes an innovative Nature-based Solutions(NbS)to address the insufficient flood control and storage capacity, eutrophication of water bodies and low biodiversity in the Chaohu lake catchment.Shibalianwei ecological wetland was taken as an example of flood buffer zone, which achieves a number of objectives such as flood regulation, water purification, biodiversity conservation and agricultural cultivation. The project adopts various measures such as multi-field wetland restoration, marsh wetland restoration and forested wetland restoration, and combines ecological percolation island technology and and small micro-wetland technology in order to construct a multi-objective flood buffer zone of the ecological wetland. The project realized the function of flood diversion and storage by introducing water from the Nanfei river into the wetland system, improved the quality of water entering the lake, enhanced the biodiversity and ecosystem stability of the Shibalianwei. This study provides a valuable reference for the design and management of similar ecological wetlands, demonstrating an innovative approach in the field of ecological restoration and water management.
