Prediction of Potential Habitats Suitable for Spartina Alterniflora in Hebei Coast Wetland and Classified Controlling Treatments
The strategic management of Spartina alterniflora involves predicting its potential suitable habitats in coastal wetlands.Based on CLIMEX model,we predicted suitable areas in Hebei coastal wetlands. Results showed that it thrived mainly in Huanghua,Cangzhou and Fengnan, covering a total area of 1.18 km2.CLIMEX showed that 96.7%of the coastal wetlands were suitable for the growth of S.alterniflora.Rampant regions covers 503.1 km2,which is distributed in Heiyanzi town, and Jiajiapu village, accounting for 29%of the total wetland area.Highly suitable areas is 494.3 km2,which is located in Nanpu wetland,Cangzhou coastal wetland and Bohai new area, accounting for 28.5%of the total area of the coastal wetlands in Hebei.Moderately suitable areas(516 km2)are distributed in the coastal wetlands and Haixing wetlands in Laoting county, accounting for 29.7%of the total area of coastal wetlands in Hebei. The low-suitability area(164.3 km2),mainly distributed in the coastal area of Qinhuangdao, accounting for 9.5%of the total coastal wetland area.Adopting a graded management strategy according to the level of habitat suitability for Spartina alterniflora, and multi-sites holistic approach is needed to prevent secondary invasion.
