Practice of Ecological Restoration in the Treatment Area of Spartina alterniflora in Ninbgbo
With the progress of implementation of the projects of Spartina alterniflora control throughout the country,Spartina alterniflora is eliminated, and resulted in large area of bare mudflat. The capability of decaying surges and capturing sediment in the inter-tidal zone is weakened, imposing direct threats to the security of coastal ecosystem. This article focuses on S.alterniflora-control area in the Phase Ⅰ coastal zone Project in Zhenhai, manages to implement measures such as micro-topography reconstruction, vegetation restoration and benthic organism restoration.Multi-level plant communities and diverse ecological spaces were constructed, enhancing the carrying capacity of the ecosystem and accelerating the restoration of marine biological resources in the S.alterniiflora-control area.A monitoring and early warning mechanism is established concurrently as an effective tactic to prevent secondary invasion of S.alterniflora and consolidate the achievements of governance. At the same time, evaluation of the effectiveness of ecological restoration was carried out to ensure the sustainability of the restoration work. These practical experiences gained from these projects are not only beneficial to improve the post-effects of the ecological restoration projects after elimination of the invasive plants, but also to provide a basis and guidance for other similar ecological restoration projects.
