The study of wetland soil/sediment organic carbon storage is an important basis for accurate assessment of wetland carbon sink and wetland restoration. The soil/sediment samples were collected from five different habitat types around Bao'an Lake, including paddy fields, mudflats, reeds, floating vegetation and open water environments. The organic carbon storage in soil/sediment was estimated for a depth of 0~100 cm.The results showed that the soil organic carbon storage(0~100 cm depth)was 49.55~117.36 t/hm2,the reed site was the largest(117.36±6.72 t/hm2),and the beach wetland was the smallest(49.55±8.29 t/hm2).Additionally,a significant positive correlation was found between organic carbon storage per unit area and total nitrogen,carbon-nitrogen ratio, and carbon-phosphorus ratio, while a significant negative correlation was observed with soil pH value. This can provide important reference data for managing carbon sinks and natural reserves in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China.
