Genetic Diversity and Phylogenetic Analysis of CDS of HSFB1 Gene in Three Populus Trees
[Objective]Based on the HSFB1 gene, this study aims to explore the genetic diversity,phylo-genetic relationships, and the relationship between population genetic variation and adaptation to hetero-geneous environments in different populations of Populus alba,Populus adenopoda, and Populus davidi-ana at the CDS level.[Method]The coding sequences of the HSFB1 gene were extracted from various Populus samples.Genetic diversity analysis, neutrality tests, and haplotype diversity analysis were per-formed.[Results]The HSFB1 gene exhibited the lowest haplotype diversity and nucleotide polymorphism in the P.alba population, followed by P.adenopoda and southwestern P.davidiana populations. In con-trast,the highest diversity was observed in the P.davidiana populations in central and northern regions. The results of neutrality tests were not significant in any of the Populus populations. The phylogenetic tree of CDS1 showed that the outgroup firstly branched into P.adenopoda and P.davidiana, while P.alba clustered at the end.Haplotype analysis of CDS2 revealed that P.davidiana populations in the northern and central regionshad rich haplotype diversity, whereas the P.alba,P.adenopoda and southwestern P.davidiana populations had relatively fewer haplotypes.[Conclusion]Different Populus species and popula-tions exhibit distinct adaptative and evolutionary characteristics in response to the complex and variable geographical environment and climate conditions in China.
