Leaf Area Measurement and Empirical Model Construction of 14 Garden Greening Plants
[Objective]This paper aimed to explore an effective method for rapid and accurate determination of plant leaf area.[Method]The experiment used 14 kinds of garden greening plants commonly used in north China as test materials. The leaf area was measured by 5 different methods, leaf parameters such as leaf length and leaf width were regression analyzed with leaf area, determined the best blade parameters for middle lobe area conversion by coefficient regression method,in order to provide reference basis and method for production and scientific research.[Result]The results showed that there was a significant linear correlation between the leaf area data obtained by leaf area meter method, grid counting method, copy paper weighing method and digital image method(P<0.01).Digital image method is the most stable method in leaf area measurement. There were significant differences in leaf area, leaf circumference, leaf length, leaf width, leaf length/leaf width among 14 species(P<0.01).The average leaf area, leaf circumference, leaf length, leaf width, leaf length/leaf width of 14 species were 1.11-20.62 cm2,4.43-22.33 cm,1.47-7.90 cm,1.02-4.76 cm,and 1.11-2.89 respectively.[Conclusion]The linear relationship(A=0.72L·W+0.37)and the power exponential relationship(A=0.78(L·W)0.97)between the product of leaf length and leaf width and the fitting of leaf area are the best, significant correlation was achieved(P<0.01).In practice, these two equations can be used as regression equations to calculate the leaf area of 14 tree species.
