Physiological Response Characteristics of Trees under Low Temperature Stress
Low temperature,as a key environmental factor, has a significant impact on plant growth and development,as well as yield. At the same time, low temperature is also one of the important natural disasters that endanger forestry production. At present, some progress has been made in studying the physiological response characteristics of trees under low temperature stress. This article reviewed the physiological response characteristics of trees under low temperature stress, aiming to provide reference for in-depth research on the cold resistance mechanism of trees.Research has shown that low temperature stress can regulate the photosynthesis, chlorophyll content, and flavonoid content of trees to cope with low temperature stress.Specifically, low temperature will reduce the rate of photosynthesis,as it inhibits enzyme activity, slows down stomatal opening and carbon dioxide absorption rate, thereby reducing the efficiency of photosynthesis. This decrease may lead to a slowdown in plant growth rate and a decrease in yield. In addition, low temperatures can cause changes in chlorophyll content, but there are still differences in the specific trend and degree of change. Some studies have shown that low temperature stress can reduce the synthesis and accumulation of chlorophyll, while others have found that low temperature can stimulate trees to increase chlorophyll synthesis. In addition, low temperature stress can also promote the synthesis and accumulation of more flavonoids in trees, enhancing their cold resistance and ability to cope with low temperature pressure. These compounds have antioxidant effects, which can alleviate oxidative damage caused by low temperature and protect cell integrity. In conclusion, the physiological response of trees to low temperature stress involves changes in photosynthesis, chlorophyll content, and flavonoids.Future research can delve deeper into the molecular mechanisms of trees in low-temperature environments through the use of more precise technological means,in order to deepen the understanding of the cold resistance mechanism of trees and provide more references for improving tree varieties, improving cold resistance performance, and increasing forestry yield.
