Geographical Distribution of Rare Plants and the Correlation Analysis with Key Environmental Factors in Ruyang Area of Nanling Nature Reserve,Guangdong Province
[Objective]The objective of this study is to investigate the distribution pattern of rare and endangered plants and their response to environmental factors in Ruyang area of Nanying Nature Reserve.[Method]Based on the 3S technology and the systematic sampling method, seven line transects and nine quadrats were identified in this area. Thus,a total of 1 766 plant samples were collected. Then, identification and species analysis were conducted on the rare plants.A three-dimensional geospatial distribution model of the rare plants in the reserve was established.Based on statistical analysis, the distribution characteristics of the rare plants in the area were clarified in terms of flora and geographic distribution.[Result]A total of 27 plant types were identified, involving rare and endangered plants, key protected plants and suggested protected plants. These plants belonged to 20 families and 26 genera. The 20 families were divided into 10 distribution area types, with 8 and 10 families characterized as the tropical and temperate distribution types, respectively. The 26 genera were divided into 11 distribution area types, with 7,12 and 7 genera characterized as the tropical, temperate and Chinese endemic distribution types, respectively. The species composition and similarity of rare plants varied with geographic locations.Vertically, the rare plants in Nanling were mainly distributed in the altitudes of 500-750 m and 1 250-1 500 m,accounting for 40.74%and 48.15%of the rare plants, respectively. The number of species decreased with the rise of the slope.Horizontally, species richness was lower at the edge of the reserve. In contrast, species richness was higher in the internal area.Species similarity decreased with the increase of horizontal distance.[Conclusion]The rare plants in Ruyang Area of Nanyang Nature Reserve were characterized by the transition from the temperate distribution type to the tropical distribution type. The distribution of the rare plants was affected by various environmental factors such as latitude, longitude, altitude, slope and aspect. In order to protect these rare plants,it is necessary to formulate different protection strategies for different areas, strengthen monitoring and management and ensure sustainable biodiversity development.
