[Objective]Through the investigation and analysis of plant landscapes, this study aimed to provide theoretical references for the selection and configuration of plants in pocket parks.[Method]Ten representative pocket parks in the urban area of Lishui city were selected as the research objects.Field surveys and comparative analysis were conducted to analyze and study plant species, life forms, ornamental characteristics, frequency of use,and landscape elements.[Result]The ten pocket parks collectively contain 102 plant species, belonging to 57 families and 86 genera. The dominant families are Rosaceae,Liliaceae, and Magnoliaceae.Perennial herbaceous plants are the main life form, with a nearly equal ratio of trees to shrubs.Plants with ornamental leaves are predominant, followed by flowering plants, compound plants,fruit-bearing plants, and stem-viewing plants.High-frequency plant applications include Ophiopogon bodinieri,Acer palmatum,Osmanthus fragrans and Camphora officinarum.Landscape spatial creation mainly employs solitary planting, paired planting, and group planting, utilizing techniques such as barrier views and frame views to create spatial layouts. The landscape hierarchy consists of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and lawns. The seasonal changes of plants are diverse, providing scenic views throughout the year.In creating landscape themes, plants are combined with park themes to form a harmonious resonance, enhancing each other.[Conclusion]The design of plant landscapes in pocket parks should balance scientific principles and artistic expression. It is essential to cultivate a batch of characteristic plants with local and regional features while further developing the therapeutic functions of plants. In terms of artistic expression, emphasis should be placed on spatial creation and ingenious layout, combined with hierarchy, seasonality, and themes to create rich and varied plant landscapes,so as to effectively improve the greening quality of pocket parks.
