Analysis of Phenotypic Trait Diversity and ISSR Genetic Diversity in 40 Hibiscus syriacus Varieties
[Objective]To explore the genetic diversity among different Hibiscus syriacus varieties and provide theoretical support for the cultivation and improvement of Hibiscus syriacus varieties in the future.[Method]This experiment conducted genetic diversity analysis on 40 Hibiscus syriacus varieties through the study of phenotypic traits and ISSR molecular marker technology.[Result]The analysis of phenotypic traits showed that there were 20 varieties with a diversity index(H')exceeding 1,indicating that the diversity of the tested varieties in this study was relatively high, mainly concentrated in flower color, flower type, flower center, flower and leaf size.Cluster analysis of quantitative traits shows that clustering criteria focus on flower diameter and style length. The clustering analysis results of quality traits show that the clustering criteria focus on petal shape and flower color. The ISSR results show that the clustering criteria tend to favor the length and petal shape of the style.[Conclusion]This study investigated the genetic diversity of 40 Hibiscus syriacus varieties from two aspects:phenotypic traits and molecular level.Through genetic diversity analysis using phenotypic traits and ISSR technology,we found that petal type, style length, color, and diameter of flowers are the main directions of variation in Hibiscus syriacus varieties. This provides a theoretical basis for the cultivation and improvement of Hibiscus syriacus varieties in the future.
