Preliminary Comparative Study on the Introduction of Multiple Varieties of Camellia oleifera in Youyang,Chongqing
[Objective]In order to determine the most suitable clonal lines of Camellia oleifera for cultivation in Youyang,Chongqing, and its surrounding areas,a systematic experiment was conducted to compare multiple clonal lines.[Method]Varieties including"Changlin 3","Changlin 4","Changlin 40","Changlin 53","Xianglin 210","Changlin 23","Changlin 18",and"Changlin 27"were selected as research subjects. The study assessed various growth parameters such as tree height, diameter at breast height, crown width, crown height,as well as economic indicators including fruit yield, fruit characteristics, seed traits.Additionally, the oil yield rate was calculated, and theoretical yields were estimated.[Result]Results indicated significant trait variations among different clonal lines of Camellia oleifera while demonstrating normal growth in the local environment.Certain clonal lines, such as"Changlin 53","Changlin 3",and"Xianglin 210",exhibited favorable performance in Youyang, with theoretical oil yields ranging from 441.05 to 553.54 kg·hm-2,[Conclusion]"Changlin 53","Changlin 3",and"Xianglin 210"suggesting significant potential for promotion. This study provides valuable insights for industrial development and technological research.
