Cutting is carried out at every stage of forest management throughout the life cycle. It is of great practical sig-nificance for the growth and long-term development of forest resources to establish a cutting management model that is compatible with the concept of precise improvement of forest quality.Domestic and foreign research shows that cutting can improve light, reduce competition, adjust the spatial structure of stand, and promote the growth of retained wood; And light-loving and immature trees benefit more from reduced competition; In addition, cutting can improve soil nutrient cycling, promote natural regeneration and increase species diversity;Unreasonable and untimely cutting may make the stand miss the best renewal time, and also weaken the resilience of the stand, resulting in forest decline. On the basis of summarizing the effects of cutting on forest development, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the adjustment of cutting management and methods.
