Analysis of the Impact of the Digital Economy on the Efficiency of Rural Medical Resource Allocation
The rapid advancement of digital economy has injected substantial momentum into the inno-vative development of traditional industries,with digital healthcare being one of its prominent applica-tions.This paper constructs a comprehensive index for the development of digital economy from two di-mensions:digital industrialization and industrial digitization.It employs the DEA-Malmquist index to evaluate the efficiency of medical resource allocation in township hospitals and village clinics,utilizing panel data from 29 provinces in China between 2011 and 2021 to empirically analyze the impact of the digital economy on the efficiency of rural medical resource allocation.The study finds that the digital economy significantly enhances the efficiency of medical resource allocation in township hospitals,while its effect on village clinics is not significant.In regions with higher levels of urbanization and increased fi-nancial investment in healthcare,the digital economy has a more pronounced effect on improving the ef-ficiency of medical resource allocation in township hospitals.In terms of the mechanism,industrial struc-ture upgrading and technological innovation are the two channels through which the digital economy in-fluences the efficiency of medical resource allocation in township hospitals.The research findings pro-vide a new perspective for enhancing the efficiency of rural medical resource allocation.
