Enabling Effects of the Digital Economy on the High-Quality Development of Gansu Province——A Perspective of Industrial Structure Upgrading
As a new economic form,the digital economy has become a crucial driving force for promot-ing high-quality development.Based on panel data from 14 prefectures and cities in Gansu Province from 2011 to 2020,this paper empirically analyzes the impact of the digital economy on enabling high-quality development in Gansu Province.The study reveals that the digital economy significantly promotes high-quality development in Gansu Province,providing new impetus for its advancement.The digital economy can positively promote high-quality development through the upgrading of industrial structure,in which the mediating effect of the advancement of industrial structure is significant,and the mediating effect of the rationalization of industrial structure is not significant.The enabling effects of the digital economy on high-quality development in Gansu Province exhibit significant heterogeneity,with higher levels of economic development in regions corresponding to higher enabling effects of the digital economy.Based on these findings,recommendations are proposed to consolidate and develop the advan-tages of the digital economy in enabling high-quality development in Gansu Province,focusing on leveraging digital dividends,promoting industrial transformation and upgrading,and strengthening opening-up.
