Can Digital Finance Promote Green Development in Cities along the Yellow River Basin?
Based on data from 59 prefecture-level and above cities in the Yellow River Basin from 2011 to 2019,this paper empirically examines the impact of digital finance on the green development of cities,and uses a mediation effect model to analyze the specific roles of technological innovation and in-dustrial structure upgrading in the process of digital finance driving urban green development.The study finds that digital finance can significantly promote the green development of cities along the Yellow River Basin,with a more pronounced effect on the middle and lower reaches.Digital finance to drive green de-velopment by enhancing urban technological innovation and promoting industrial structure upgrading.Consequently,cities along the Yellow River Basin should actively promote digital finance,improve finan-cial inclusiveness,strengthen the construction of digital finance infrastructure to cultivate a supportive ecosystem for digital finance development;innovate digital finance service models to achieve a deep inte-gration of digital finance and technological innovation;and strategically allocate digital finance resourc-es in the Yellow River Basin to attain high-level development of industrial structure across all levels.
