Current Status and Prospects of Clinical Cure for Chronic Hepatitis B
Chronic hepatitis B is a progressive disease that leads to a significant number of deaths each year due to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In recent years, with the deepening understanding of the mechanisms of Hepatitis B virus infection,advance-ments in different transformation strategies for nucleos(t)ide analogs and long-acting interferons, and the development of new drugs,a cure for hepatitis B has become an achievable goal. This paper reviewed the concept of clinical cure for hepatitis B,its historical devel-opment,potential mechanisms, the current treatment landscape, and the latest progress in new drug development. The challenges encountered in the process of curing hepatitis B and directions for future efforts were also discussed, providing a reference for clinical research and practice.
