Based on the theory of error analysis and 120 English writing texts,this study explores the characteristics and influencing factors of English writing errors among science and engineering undergraduates by constructing a small corpus and combining qualitative and quantitative survey methods.It is found that there are a large number and multiple types of errors in English writing among science and engineering college students,involving eleven types of writing speech errors.The reasons involve both linguistic and non-linguistic factors,among which linguistic factors include interlingual and intralingual interference,while non-linguistic factors include students'personal emotions,cognitive abilities,learning strategies,and teacher teaching factors.The study aims to provide some teaching inspiration for English writing teaching among science and engineering college students.
