The Implications of Free Will in Shen Congwen's Chenhe Novels——An Exploratory Study Based on Grounded Theory
Shen Congwen,an outstanding modern writer,has attracted widespread attention with his unique regional charm and humanistic concern in the Chenhe River novels.This article adopts a grounded theory research method to delve into the connotations of free will in Shen Congwen's Chenhe River no-vels,revealing the intrinsic connections between character traits,destinies,and social environments.Through comprehensive reading and analysis,it distills a model of the connotations of free will in the Chenhe River novels,employs grounded theory to classify and summarize character images,and con-cludes the patterns of free will in Shen Congwen's Chenhe River novels.Combining social and historical backgrounds,it explores the origins,backgrounds,connotations,formation,development,and manifesta-tions of free will,highlighting the unique value in the history of modern Chinese literature.The research reveals multiple dimensions of the connotations of free will in the Chenhe River novels,providing a new perspective for understanding the autho'rs creative intentions and the artistic value of the works.This ar-ticle enriches the theoretical system of modern literary research and offers insights and references for re-lated studies.
