The historical trajectory of translating Chinese classical literature into foreign languages has been a perennial focal point within the scholarly community,yet it remains a challenging field of study.This treatise,leveraging the translations of Mirror of the Mind and Cai Gen Tan as case studies,meticulously examines the historical context and evolution of these translations.It delves into the trans-lation processes of these two venerable texts,elucidating their commonalities and divergences.Through this comparative analysis,the paper seeks to derive insights and provoke contemplation.The objective is to revive a sense of cultural self-assurance in selecting enlightening works,thereby establishing a histori-cal foundation.This endeavor is intended to offer a substantive framework for the translation of canoni-cal texts and to facilitate the global dissemination of Chinese culture.
