Observing the Bias of Communication in the Digital Age Through"Textual Aphasia":Revisiting Time-binding Media
With the increasing frequency of digital media usage,people's communication methods are undergoing a significant transformation from offline"face-to-face"to online"symbol-to-symbol".Al-though it has brought convenience and efficiency to communication and information exchange,it has in-visibly fostered the concern of textual aphasia.Specifically,it is manifested in the phenomena of forget-ting how to write words,running out of words,declining abilities in organizing language and text,and diminishing logical thinking skills.The study analyzes how the convenience,immediacy,and interactivi-ty of digital media reshape communication habits and weaken autonomous expression abilities.And the essay is also about how information overload affects reading depth and language expression skills.Through the lens of the Bias of Communication theory,the essay points out that the temporal and spa-tial biases of digital media exacerbate the decline in language expression abilities and lead to the aliena-tion of language expression.To address the phenomenon of"textual aphasia,"the essay emphasizes the importance of revisiting time-binding media(such as books and magazines),arguing that time-binding media play an irreplaceable role in fostering deep thinking abilities,enhancing individual language ex-pression,and improving social interaction skills.
