Translation strategies of culture-loaded words in'Beijing Folding'from the perspective of eco-translatology
Based on the eco-translatology theory, this thesis takes Hao Jingfang's'Beijing Folding'and its English version as the research cases to make a profound analysis of the culture-loaded words.Eco-translatology holds that the translation process is a complex system composed of many factors,in-cluding the source text, the translator, the target readers and the social culture. In Liu Yukun's English version of"Beijing Folding,"different translation methods such as free translation, annotation and cul-tural equivalence are adopted to deal with the large number of culture-loaded words in the text,so as to achieve efficient cultural dissemination and communication. Therefore,in the process of translation, the main purpose of translation is to make the translation better reflect the cultural meaning of the source language, and also to make the translation better fit with the cultural context of the target language,so as to achieve better communication effect. Therefore, this paper proposes that from the perspective of'eco-translation',it can help translators to seek a balance between'faithfulness to the original work'and'adaptation',so as to achieve the best effect of translation practice.
