The Impact of Social-emotional Competence on College Students' Social Adaptability:Comprehending the Chain Mediation of Social Support and Positive Coping
In order to explore the influence of college students'social-emotional competence on social adaptability and the chain mediating role of perceived social support and positive coping between the two,a questionnaire survey was carried out on 374 college students using the College Students'Social-Emotional Competence Scale,the Perceived Social Support Scale,the Positive Coping Styles Questionnaire and the Social Adaptive Capacity Diagnostic Scale.The results found that:(1)college students'social-emotional competence,social adaptability,perceptual social support and positive coping styles are all significantly positively correlated;(2)college students'social-emotional competence significantly and positively affects social adaptability;(3)perceptual social support and positive coping styles play a partial mediating role between college students'social-emotional competence and social adaptability;(4)Awareness of social support and positive coping constitute chain mediators in the relationship between social-emotional competence and social adaptability among college students.This study expands the mechanism of research on social-emotional competence affecting students'social adaptability,while providing insights for enhancing college students'social adaptability.
