A Study on the Factors influencing the Professional Sense of Mission Among Normal School Students
As the reserve army of future teachers, the level of teacher trainees'sense of professional mission will have an important impact on future teaching quality and motivation to teach. From the perspective of career development theory,a questionnaire on teacher trainees'sense of professional mission was compiled, including five dimensions of contribution, meaning, belonging, inspiration and fulfillment,as well as a questionnaire on factors influencing the sense of professional mission at three levels:family, school and society. The study shows that the overall sense of professional mission of teacher trainees is still unsatisfactory and needs to be improved.Among them, the highest degree of sense of contribution and sense of significance, the second highest degree of sense of inspiration and sense of fulfillment, and the lowest degree of sense of belonging were found, and there were significant differences among the five sub-dimensions.Teacher trainees with undergraduate degrees and those who had undergone educational internships showed a higher sense of professional calling.Family, school and social factors significantly influence teacher trainees'sense of professional mission. Therefore,it is necessary to promote teacher trainees'sense of professional mission through targeted education on teacher ethics,a"broad-bore"model of practical literacy training, and a comprehensive social support system.
