Comparative on global value chain participation rate of textile and apparel industry
In order to measure the participation degree of major global economies in the global value chain of textile and garment industry and analyze the position of China's textile and garment industry in it,54 major economies from 2010 to 2020 were measured using the production-based and trade-based global value chain participation rate measurement methods based on the data of multi-regional input-output table of Asian Development Bank. The results were compared and analyzed in different countries. The results show that the forward participation rate of the global value chain of China's textile and garment industry lags behind that of developed economies in Europe and the United States, and the backward participation rate is smaller than that of most developing economies, but the forward participation rate of the global value chain of China's textile and garment industry is greater than the backward participation rate, which is in the relative upstream position of the global value chain. This paper can provide reference for the formulation of relevant policies of China's textile and garment industry.
