Microscopic identification between cashmere and the down of native sheep wool and its modified fibers
Cashmere and the down of native sheep are both composed of scale and cortex layer, which are widely used in textiles and clothing and difficult to distinguish. The longitudinal morphology and scale appearance and their modified fibers of the two types of fibers were analyzed by optical microscope. The research results indicate that there is a certain overlap between cashmere and the down of native sheep under microscope, especially scale modified and stretched fibers of the down of native sheep, which shows obvious change under microscope, increases visual overlap and muddle up with cashmere. This study provides a picture reference for more accurate identification of cashmere and the down of native sheep under a microscope, and sum up experience and provide suggestions in the process.
