Analysis and application of petal patterns in colored pottery of Dawenkou culture
In order to explore the shape characteristics and practical value of the petal pattern of painted pottery from the Dawenkou culture, and to solve the application problems of traditional patterns in modern design, the shape characteristics, organizational form and aesthetic characteristics of petal patterns were analyzed and summarized through literature review and field investigation.Shape grammar was introduced to extract design factors from the petal pattern of painted pottery, and objective constraints were formulated based on generative and derivative rules,a large number of pattern design schemes with the characteristics of Dawenkou culture were generated, and applied to modern sock design.Through target audience research and evaluation, the feasibility of innovative patterns in modern design was verified, and a new idea and solution for the current innovative design and application of traditional Chinese patterns was provided.
