Integration of batik elements from the southwest of Guizhou for woven embroidery textiles
To expand the application approaches of national-level intangible cultural heritage batik,an innovative integration scheme of batik patterns and the aesthetics of weaving and embroidery design was proposed.Firstly, through the literature research method, the characteristics and symbolic implications of the three types of patterns, namely geometric, animal, and plant,in the batik costumes of the Miao ethnic group in southwestern Guizhou were summarized and analyzed.Subsequently, the traditional batik element patterns were extracted and subjected to abstraction processing.Through deconstruction and reorganization,as well as color analysis, weaving and embroidery patterns rich in ethnic aesthetic value were formed. Finally, with the aid of yarn weaving and embroidery techniques applied to textiles such as pillows, cushions, handbags and white T-shirts,not only was the three-dimensional and uneven effect of the fabric enhanced, but also a rich texture and vivid color were imparted. The integration of traditional batik patterns and weaving techniques broadens the development path of batik patterns in textile design applications, enriches product design expressions.
