In this paper, the factors that affect aircraft take-off performance are elaborated as well as the significance and purpose of engine-out standard instrument departure procedure(EOSID).The overall design scheme and ideas of EOSID are sketched, and the key points and difficulties in the process of the EOSID design are analyzed, including the selection of decision points, turning track control and obstacle clearance requirements. The application methods of EOSID in the civil aviation industry, including manual input to MCDU by flight crew and importing to the navigation database of aircraft, are mentioned as well as the problems that need to be concerned about for the two application methods. Finally, the necessity and evaluation ideas of obstacle clearance assessment for one engine-out go around during landing are elaborated. In view of the go-around gradient in the approach chart,it is proposed to verify whether an aircraft's landing climb performance meets the requirements of the go-around gradient in the approach chart by obtaining the landing climb gradient of the aircraft and comparing it with the go-around gradient in the approach chart.
