End-around Taxiway Design Based on Operation Requirements and Site Conditions
End-around taxiway(EAT)is a new type of taxiway which can improve operation safety and efficiency of busy airports with close-distance and medium-distance parallel runways. In this paper, the problems existing in the EAT construction of China are analysed.Taking the Jinan Yaoqiang Airport EAT project as an example, starting from the operating requirements and construction conditions,it conducts a comparative analysis of schemes under different operating modes in terms of construction costs and operational efficiency. It points out that the design of the EAT project should be adapted to local conditions and simplified to reduce waste in construction project and improve airport operational efficiency.
