Informed Consent Rules and Safeguards for Automatic Decision-making of Civil Aviation Passengers'Personal Information
Informed consent is a crucial norm and fundamental principle in protecting personal information. This paper examines the specificity of civil aviation passengers'personal information through a sample survey of 10 domestic public air transport carriers'automatic decision-making policies. It emphasizes the importance of passengers'right to know and consent to their personal information,as well as airlines'responsibility to safeguard it.The analysis identifies existing issues in the field, such as ensuring passengers'right to choose and informed consent effectiveness. To address these problems, measures are proposed including establishing a robust supervision mechanism, enhancing legal awareness among personal information processors and creating an independent agency for personal information protection. Finally, future research directions are discussed with particular attention given to cross-border transfer and protection of passengers'personal information.
