Research on Aviation Market Development Model of Small and Medium-sized Airports from a Global Perspective
Small and medium-sized airports play a critical role in the global air transportation market,and their numerical advantage provides important support for the accessibility of air transportation services.Based on air passenger throughput,cargo and mail throughput,and aircraft movements data for the observation years 1995,2000,2005,2010,2015 and 2019,this paper conducts quantitative analysis of aviation market development patterns of small and medium-sized airports from a global perspective by establishing passenger transport index and general aviation index.The study shows that passenger transportation is the main development mode of small and medium-sized airports while general aviation is an important supplement and cargo transportation is a limited support,and passenger transportation and general aviation play an important role in the sustainable development of small and medium-sized airports.This study provides reference for the formulation of aviation market development policies of small and medium-sized airports in China.
