The Elevator Trim System Trouble Shooting Based on Aerodynamic Principles
In case of intermittent flight control system failures occurring during the operation of an aircraft, limited by ground conditions,it is impossible to simulate the aerodynamic of an airplane flying in the air,and it is difficult to reproduce the failure phenomena on the ground, which makes the elimination of such failures extremely difficult. In response to two intermittent failures of the elevator trim system of the Citation 560XL aircraft,by in-depth analysis of the working principles and failure phenomena of the system and its sub-parts,and applying aerodynamic principles to theoretically restore the aerodynamic changes on the elevator and the tab at the time of failure, the working state and possible failure phenomena of each component of the system when the failures occur are theoretically reproduced, thus the faulty components are accurately identified and the faults are eliminated. The analytical methods and troubleshooting measures adopted by this article provide new ideas and methods for eliminating this type of fault and have certain reference value.
