Study on the Synthesis and Curing Reaction Kinetics of Bio-Based Phenolic Amine Curing Agents
A bio-based phenolic amine curing agent(CFT)was synthesized by the Mannich reaction using cardanol, furfural, and triethylenetetramine. This curing agent was used to cure epoxy resin under solvent-free conditions, and the resulting epoxy/CFT coating exhibited excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and thermal stability.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)was employed to study the curing kinetics of the epoxy/CFT system. The DSC curveswere simplified by using peak fitting method, and an autocatalytic model was applied to fit the simplified curves, successfully obtaining the kinetic parameters of the curing reaction. The simulated curves matched the experimental data well, demonstrating the effectiveness of this simplified method in analyzing the curing kinetics of epoxy resins with complex DSC curves.
