In order to screen parental materials with excellent genes and utilize them in wheat breeding programs, seven major agronomic traits, such as effective ears, grain number per ear,and thousand kernel weight ect.of 94 foreign wheat germplasms were investigated and the dates were analyzed by cluster analysis and correlation analysis. The results showed that except for bulk density, all the other six traits showed a great degree of variation, while the sterile spikelet showed the greatest variance coefficient (62.07%).Effective ears and plant height showed the extremely significant positive correlation with yield while effective ears was extremely significant negative correlation with thousand kernel weight. These materials can be divided into nine groups through cluster analysis. The group Ⅱ with six wheat varieties including g-1020,g-1043 and 09A452 presented high yield and fewer sterility spikelet, and the yield components of which act more synergistically. Therefore varieties in the group Ⅱ can be used as breeding parents.
