The Translation of Reference Term Among the Culture-Specific Items in Intangible Cultural Heritage:The Case of"Xian Fu-ren"
Due to its prominent regional and ethnic characteristics, intangible cultural heritage has derived a large number of Culture-Specific Items, which has become a major difficulty in the translation of intangible cultural heritage. The Lingnan region has a long history, unique language, and numerous intangible cultural heritages, and due to frequent cultural exchanges, the intangible cultural heritage in Western Guangdong Province,"Faith and Custom of Xian Fu-ren",has extensive influence at home and abroad. However, the English translation of the reference term"Xian Fu-ren",a Culture-Specific Item, presents a mixed use of multiple versions, which is not conducive to the international dissemination of relevant intangible cultural heritage.By comparing and analyzing the differences in semantics, usage, and cultural connotations of the translated texts,it is to explore appropriate English translation and proper strategies in translating, which is helpful to improve the referential accuracy and conformity of the reference terms of intangible cultural heritage in intercultural communication, and to further provide references for the translation of similar Culture-Specific Items.
